  • what are the possibilities?
  • what are the design constrains? (in order to fully utilize the technology, its worth to learn about its limitations. this approach allows to push them even further)
  • which of the constrains are solvable and which are not? (you can not create holes smaller then 0,1mm or improve dimensional accuracy only by playing with process parameters, but there are many problems you can solve)
  • what is the DMLM process chain? (where are the contains? where this technology might be implemented?) 
  • There in no single approach to design parts for DMLM.
    From our experience, 10 engineers might be 10 different design approaches, and even all or none of them may finally be successful. 

    Of course the building time, powder consumption or required time for post-processing will be different, that is why most often there is always some space for process optimization.
